Five Key Tips to Winning at Blackjack
There are two types of card games, a regular card game and an advanced card game.
In blackjack, as soon as you can count cards, you have officially crossed over to the advanced side of blackjack playing. Once you're in the big games, there are five tips that can help increase your odds. First, remember there's always a right time for insurance. If you see that there are lots of 10's left in the deck (at least 4), then insurance is lucrative when the dealer is showing an Ace, otherwise, let it pass.
Second, if the dealer has a ten as a face card and you have a 16 but you know there are more 10's left in the deck (even if it's just 1) stand. It is more probable that you bust with a 16 by hitting, so just take your chances.
Third, if the dealer has a 10 and you know there are more than four 10's in the deck, you should stand on a 15 as well. Fourth, when the 10 count is 5 or higher and the dealer is showing a 6, splitting a pair of ten's isn't the most insane thing to do. The probabilities are high for the dealer to bust and your odds are higher in getting another 10 and summing up another 20.
You always have to take advantage of the dealer's weak spots. Finally, you can apply this same splitting rule to a pair of ten's if the dealer is showing a 5 and the deck has more than a 6 count of 10's making it highly probable for the dealer to bust and giving you an upper hand.
